SPA RETREAT HOTEL REVIEW, NEGRIL, JAMAICA

The Spa Retreat is an adult only, chic boutique hotel located at West End, Negril, Jamaica.

This was my 2nd visit to this hotel. I was glad to be back.

Immediately on entering the premises, three words to describe Spa Retreat. 

Cozy, private and serene.

This is the perfect location for a romantic getaway, honeymoon or for rest & relaxation. The almost 2-acre property sits on the cliff side along the west end of Jamaica with spectacular views of the Caribbean sea.

THE COTTAGES

There are 18 stone cottages: 5 rooftop, 5 garden, 7 seaside and 1 bridal suite/ retreat suite (superior cottage). 

The name of each cottage group is based on their location on the property.

And, the bridal suite is the largest of the cottages. It has a large sitting room, large four poster bed, bathroom and balcony. This suite is located up two short flights of stairs.

The seaside cottages are on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and modern. Each seaside cottage has an outdoor patio with amazing views of the sea and pool. There is a lot of natural light emanating each room through the door which leads to the patio and the large windows. Privacy screens are at the doors and windows for added seclusion.

The garden and rooftop cottages are similar. These cottages have the same layout as the seaside cottages, except they have additional space for sleeping or sitting with a fold out sofa which is quite large. These rooms are also spacious and very comfortable.

THE POOL | SPA RETREAT HOTEL

Just let the photos of the pool speak for themselves. It is a seawater pool. The water for the pool is pumped directly from the sea. The poolside views are breathtaking. Just a few steps and you are overlooking the cliff staring at the beautiful blue Caribbean sea. There are two ladders along the cliff near poolside that allow access to the sea for swimming or snorkeling.

THE SPA AT SPA RETREAT HOTEL

The spa is located outdoors. With such picturesque views it is obvious why Spa Retreat offers outdoor amenities like dining, the bar and spa.

Massages, pedicures, manicures, facials, body wraps, body scrubs and reflexology are all offered at the Spa.

THE RESTAURANT AND BAR

The Blue Mahoe restaurant is opened from 7am-10pm daily. It offers an array of sumptuous meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating gives excellent vantage points of the coastline of the famous 7-mile beach of Negril. On my arrival I had a complimentary  fruit punch. I ordered a chicken club sandwich for lunch. I enjoyed my drink and lunch immensely. The bar is located by the sea and serves many tantalizing cocktails and other drinks.

ACTIVITIES

The hotel offers yoga, snorkeling and a dinner cooking class at the Blue Mahoe restaurant as the on-site activities. Several off-site activites can be arranged by the hotel. CONCLUSION

The Spa Retreat is the place to come for a honeymoon, romantic vacation or for some simple rest & relaxation. This is the place for reconnecting and rekindling. There is a quiet and private atmosphere at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with all modern amenities. The food and drinks are great.

The staff is very warm, courteous and professional, special mention made of Refinesha, Afrika and Franklin.

I highly recommend the Spa Retreat Hotel for an intimate getaway in Negril.
